Health & Social Care
LEVEL 1/2 QUALIFICATION (CAMBRIDGE NATIONAL)
What is it about?
This vocational course offers students the opportunity to study work relating to health, social and early years’ sectors. It may be of particular interest to students considering a future career in any of these areas.
What sort of work is done?
Students will complete a range of assignments based on different aspects of work in health and social care. A portfolio of evidence of skills and knowledge is produced which is externally assessed. Work experience must therefore be taken within these settings to help demonstrate that students are able to apply what they have learnt.
How is it examined?
The Non-Examined Assessment (NEA) is an essential component of this qualification covering a range of topics such as communication in health, social and early years’ settings. The examination will cover how the needs of each life stage are met by services within the sectors and how values of care support service users.
How important is the Non-Examined Assessment (NEA)?
Essential: it is a significant part of the final assessment. Students must be able to work methodically and keep up to date with their NEA. Consequently, excellent attendance and study skills are needed.
What qualifications will I get? What could it lead to?
