Tutorial and PSHE Programme
Our Tutorial and PSHE programme plays a central role in supporting students’ personal development and academic success in the Sixth Form.
Students meet daily with specialist Sixth Form tutors who provide consistent guidance, challenge and support. This daily contact ensures that students are well known as individuals and that their academic progress and wellbeing are closely monitored. Tutors act as the first point of contact for students and families, fostering strong, supportive relationships.
Each week follows a clearly structured programme. On Mondays, students are given dedicated time to plan and organise the week ahead. This includes reviewing key deadlines, setting academic priorities and reflecting on personal targets. This structured approach promotes independence, resilience and effective time management.
The tutorial programme covers a broad range of themes designed to develop students as well-rounded, thoughtful and responsible young adults. Topics include:
- Current affairs and political literacy
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Healthy relationships and friendships
- Study skills and independent learning strategies
- Academic progress and target setting
- Wellbeing and personal development
In addition, our fortnightly Support 4 Success sessions contribute significantly to the PSHE programme, providing focused input on areas such as careers education, employability skills, Post-18 progression and personal development.
